Journey to Jesus

I want the year 2014 to be the year of great revelation from God. I want Him to reveal himself to me in ways that I do not know is possible. I know I have my own ideas of how He may do things, but then I have to come back and remember what Isaiah 55:9 says, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts". I am so thankful that my God has better ways than me and that I am able to trust Him because in Numbers 23:19 he says, "God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?"
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of this so called "Christian" life that isn't going by the Word of God. In 2 Timothy 4:3 God tells us that, "For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear." By the grace of God will He hold me with His mighty hand and that I would always think of the "Foolish Galatians" that Paul talks to saying, "Who has bewitched you?" I want to be a follower of Christ that takes God at His Word. I know that I need to exercise my faith and in doing so, my faith will grow. For example, in Matthew 14:25-32 when Jesus came to the disciples walking on water in the middle of the storm. They were scared, but Jesus told them that it was He and to not be afraid. Peter said, Lord if it is you command me to come to you on the water. So Jesus did and once Peter started looking around at the storm he started sinking and He cried out to Jesus and Jesus saved him immediately, but Jesus also told him, "O, you of little faith, why did you doubt?" So Peter had faith…he just had little faith. So what I want to go after is BIG faith that God is looking for! I want to be the person that the Lord is looking for when he comes back…2 Chronicles 16:9. Do you?

Pen Pals

What a treasure it is to find a person that you can actually sit down and write back and forth. Not just send an email or send a message on Facebook, but to actually sit and take the time to write down your thoughts and hopes to another person.
I have had the same Pen Pal for over 10 years now. It is amazing how close you can feel to a person whom you have never met. I feel as if she is my sister. It is always exciting to see a letter come from her in the mail. Yes, we are Facebook friends and I can see what she posts, but it is nice to receive something that is directed toward me. It is proof that there was someone on this earth that cared enough about our relationship that she sat down and wrote a nice letter. It is nice to hear about the things that aren't posted on Facebook. You get to have a whole new world open up in front of you as you read about the intricate details of their life.
How awesome would it be to take a week or month or even a year and dedicate it to thinking of other people? To decide that you will take 30 minutes out of your day and sit down to write to someone you care about. I'm sure there is a person who comes up in your mind every once in a while that you haven't seen or spoken to for a long while. Why not write them now?
Sometimes you have to learn to love every minute of your life.
